This week in class, we discussed the importance of adaptive technologies and how we can improve our websites to be more accessible to all.
We began by pasting our website link into another website that checks the level of contrast and other details that might make your website more or less accessible. After seeing my results, I edited bits of my website, such as the contrast between colours, closed captioning options, and hyperlinks to ensure that my website was comprehensible to all.
Then, we practiced uploading content to our websites. I added a video that talked about the recent Hurricane Milton that included closed captioning. I also added a picture from my camera roll of my bedroom and added a text box over the image to describe the picture.
Overall, this was a good reminder to make sure I know how accessible my current EDCI 336 website is, the future blogs I might make, or any resource I am sharing in my future classroom.
