In this week’s class, we were able to explore 3D printing! This was my first experience using any 3D printing technology, but I enjoyed learning the process.
First, we used a website called TinkerCad, to help us design what we wanted to print. It had step-by-step instructions for each specific product which I found extremely helpful, especially for beginners. I decided to print the heart box and followed the listed instructions. It was a little tricky at first, but I got the hang of it quickly and proceeded to design my box.
Once I was done putting together the box, I then added a text box that had my name, as well as added colour to the print. This is what it looked like after I was finished.
Overall, this was a super interesting experience, as I have never worked with 3D printing tools before! Our designs are now waiting to be printed in the library – so I am very excited to see how it comes out! See you next week!
